Matrix/Element

The Matrix/Element skill connects your AI agent to any Matrix homeserver, enabling participation in the decentralized, end-to-end encrypted Matrix messaging network. Send and receive messages in rooms and direct messages, with support for text, Markdown formatting, and file attachments. The agent can join and leave rooms, list room members, and fetch recent message history for context before responding. End-to-end encryption via the Matrix Olm/Megolm protocol is supported when the homeserver and client are configured for it, ensuring messages remain private in transit. Room moderation commands — invite, kick, ban, and set power levels — are accessible to agents with appropriate permissions. Bridge rooms, where Matrix federates with other platforms like IRC or Slack, are treated as regular rooms from the agent's perspective. The skill is ideal for privacy-conscious teams and organizations self-hosting their communication infrastructure. Bot account mode allows the agent to operate as a persistent Matrix bot that responds to mentions or commands in any room it is a member of.
